Ober Gatlinburg Winter Events Take The Chill Off. Get geared up for four great winter events at everyone’s favorite Gatlinburg ski destination. There is fun for the entire family this winter in the Smoky Mountains.

Ober Rocks

Ober Rocks throwback event presented by 103.5 WIMZ! Friday, January 25th, 2019 Ober Gatlinburg hosts the Ober Rocks Ski Session from 8pm-Midnight! Live Music will be played in the Lounge with DJ Slopeside laying down the beat and Pepper Palace will spice things up with a HOT WING EATING contest! Event sponsor Sierra Nevada will  cool your buds with traditional ales and lagers.

This rocking night is affordable for all!

$10.35 Ski Area Lift Ticket (8pm-MIDNIGHT!)
$10.35 Lesson
$10.35 Rentals
9pm Snow Tubing Session (tubing session will only be available if conditions are favorable.  Tickets will be sold on-site only $25/per person).

34th Annual Winter Special Olympics

The 2019 State Winter Games will be held Sunday through Tuesday, January 27-29 at Ober Gatlinburg. Participants will compete in Speed Skating, Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding. All skill levels from beginner to advanced are welcome to participate. This will be the 34th consecutive year Ober Gatlinburg has hosted the event which is a cool success every time!

Snow Jam

Saturday, February 9th, 2019 will be a night of music and fun with the Po’ Ramblin’ Boys  pickin’ and grinnin’  in the Loft Lounge. There will be special cocktails for guests featuring spirits from Ole Smoky Distillery, Tennessee’s first legal Moonshine Distillery.

The slopes will be open regular hours for guests to enjoy until 10pm. Afterwards, come and warm up by the fire with a sip o’ shine and the Po’ Ramblin’ Boys.

King of the Mountain Competition

King of the Mountain competition Sunday, February 10, 2109 is your chance to strut your stuff.
Skiers and Snowboarders will compete to prove once and for all who is KING OF THE MOUNTAIN. Show your mad skills on mogul ridge and claim your crown. Things are going to get tricky so don’t forget your camera to capture the fun! Showcase your mountain and freestyle skills in one amazing competition.
